[Mastering] DJ BEATATTACK『MASTERPLAN / MUCHO GUSTO』

A.Y.B.の遺伝子を感じさせる強靭なドラムのサンプリング・ファンク第5弾!

12年の渡米生活を経て2008年に帰国、今もなお潜伏先の杉並アンダーグラウンドでサンプリング・スポーツに没頭中のDJ Beatattack。こちらが5th.シングルです。

ファットでファンキーなドラムと、長年のNY生活の中で充実させたソウル～ファンク～ジャズ～ラテンのコレクションからのマテリアル、それらをAkaiの名機MPC2000で男らしくシーケンスする、詳細不明のビートメイカー、DJ Beatattack。先日CDで発表されたビート集『Fundamental Elements』からカットされた、通算5枚目の7"シングルがこちら。要となるYoung Holt Unlimitedのキック＆スネア、ファットなベースラインとファンキーなピアノ、随所に挿入されるジャジーなホーンの組み合わせによって、ファンキーでロウダウン、かつスムーズで抑揚の効いたシーケンスながら、いつの間にか首を振らされていること必至の"Masterplan"(A面)と、上述の『Fundamental Elements』からのカット曲ながら、今回7インチ用にリマスタリングが施されて音に深みが出ている、サルサとヒップホップのマリアージュがダンスフロアに渦巻く熱気を呼び込む"Mucho Gusto"(B面)、の2曲をカップリング。どちらも夏の終わりにピッタリの、極上な仕上がりとなっているダブルサイダー・マスターピース。レコード・バックのレギュラー・メンバー入り間違いなしの一枚です。

The 5th 7-inch is 'MASTERPLAN'. Side-A brings the true groove of what real hiphop fans nodded their heads to with a combination of addictively thick drum programings with smooth base lines and horn samples throughout. 'MUCHO GUSTO', Side-B, was first released as one of the tracks from DJ Beatattack's debut CD album, 'FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS'. However, with huge demand for a 7-inch from fans, it's been decided to press it on the 7. New 7″ from my Japanese brother and producer DJ Beatattack who’s dropped another slice of goodness flipping some jazzy flavors and Latin selections. I met Beatattack back in the early 2000’s and since then he’s been steadily producing gems that have been slowly bubbling and in the loop of those in the know. This one is for those who need to know and should be hipped to what he’s got going on.
